Snow Day!

Last month we had our first major snow storm. It started on a Sunday night, snowed all night, and then most of Monday. By Monday night we had somewhere between 13 and 15 inches of snow in our front yard. Last year Levi didn't want much to do with the snow. But, this year he was really excited!

This is what Levi did most of the day, waiting for the snow to stop and for Dad to come home so we could go build a snowman!

Our front porch. Look at all that snow!!

I had heard that Reno doesn't get much snow so I hadn't bought Levi any new snow clothes for this year. Then this happened. So, Levi went out with mittens that were too small, a snow suit that barely comes to the top of his shoes, and no boots just sneakers (last years weren't going on!).

Unfortunately the snow was all powder and wouldn't pack well, so we didn't get to build a snowman. Now Levi thinks going out to play in the snow is to 'build a snowman'!

Levi had to dust the snow off all the bushes in front of our place.

What Levi enjoyed the most was to pick up the snow and throw it, or to try and catch the snow that we would throw to him!
After about 20 minutes of snow time I noticed that the tops of Levi's hands were starting to turn purple, so Daddy and I started to bring him in, which he didn't complain one bit about (he must have been cold!). But, he did have to bring a chunk of snow with him!

Poor kid was wet, purple and cold. So, I stuck him in front of the fireplace with a blanket and his ball of snow!

He would hold the snow till his hands were so cold he would start to cry. So, Daddy would warm them on his face.

Then right back to his ball of snow!
I think it is safe to say that Levi likes the snow and it's pretty sad that we haven't had another storm big enough to let us go out and play in.
