All about Tyler!

I was watching Tyler playing on the floor the other day and I realized just how much my little guy has grown up. He will be 5 months old on the the 6th! I can't believe how fast time flies. I also realized that I haven't yet jotted down some of the little milestones he has met.

It's crazy how in just 5 short months he can go from this.....
1 day old

to this adorable little guy!

When Tyler was born he weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 21 inches long. At his last well-child check he was 14lbs 11oz and nearly 27 inches long. He is at the 50th percentile for his weight and at the 95th for his height!

Tyler is a big talker and already enjoys carrying on a baby jabber talk with you! He also likes to squeal, very loudly, sometimes it will take me by surprise and I'll think he's hurt himself somehow. He loves to laugh and to be tickled in his ribs! He started sitting up all by himself a few days ago. He is still very unstable especially when he gets excited.

Tyler started rolling from his back to his belly at about 12 weeks but, only in one direction. He has just in the last week started rolling from his back to his belly in both directions but, he has yet to master rolling from his belly to his back. He also loves to stand and especially to jump! He's also very close to being mobile. I'm pretty sure in the next few weeks he'll be scooting all over the place.

Because Tyler is so tall and his weight hasn't been keeping up with his height, his pediatrician gave us the okay to start him on some oatmeal cereal each night. I was really hoping that it would help my once awesome sleeper (from 10pm to 8-9am without getting up to eat) come back. It hasn't seemed to help, he's still getting up 2-3 times a night to eat. So after 3 weeks of trying the cereal with no change except the smell and consistency of what ends up in his diaper, I've decided to stop the cereal. We'll try it again when he gets closer to 6 months and see if he likes it more. Tyler also loves to play with his toys! I've had a couple of different people comment on how they've never seen such a young child be so into playing with toys. He especially likes anything that makes noise or lights up.

I don't know why this pic insists on being this way

We sure love you small fry!!

December Happenings

It's been a while since my last post. The holidays made for a busy month and a half so I am just going to lump the last month into one post with lots of pictures! The month started off with Dan having to go to Anaheim for a mid-year conference. It was the first time in our married life that we had spent a night apart. It was a LONG five nights but, we made it through and did it with flying colors.

My boys sporting their mohawks! Tyler's hair is so fine it's really hard to see his but, trust me, it's there and it's very tall!

Levi still loves his trains! Their are complex story lines when he plays with his trains now.

Next, we celebrated my 28th birthday. Dan took us out to Red Lobster for lunch and then drove us around to look at Christmas lights that night. He and Levi made me this yummy cake and sang Happy Birthday to me. Levi sang the whole song to me! It was wonderful!

About a week before Christmas we got out first real snow fall. It didn't snow much, as you can see, but it was enough for Levi and I to go out and try to build a snowman. I think Levi had more fun sweeping and shoveling the snow off the grass though.

My cute little stocking stuffer! Who wouldn't want to wake up Christmas morning to find this in their stocking!

Santa Baby!

Christmas Eve. We had Nana, Grandpa Charlie my parents and two of my brothers over for dinner. Tyler opening up his gift from Nana and Grandpa Charlie. Tyler really liked all the pretty colors on the wrapping paper.

I had a really hard time getting a picture of Levi with his gift from Nana and Grandpa Charlie. He was so excited about it he wouldn't hold still long enough!

We gave all the Grandparents and Great-grandparents photo books of our year for Christmas.

Our Christmas Eve family picture. The boys are in their Christmas jammies. I didn't put any presents under the tree until Christmas Eve. When Levi got up Christmas Eve morning he was so excited to see all the gifts, he went and knelt down next to the tree and pointed at a little pile of gifts and said, "these are books!"

Santa brought Levi a Handy Manny work shop! It's been a great hit! Santa also brought Tyler a little play kitchen and Mom and Dad an exercise bike! We must have been very good this year.

Christmas morning and all smiles!

Tyler seemed much more into Christmas then Levi did at this age. He really seemed to enjoy all the goings on around him. It was fun to see!

Levi took his present opening very seriously. At first he tried to open each gift without riping the paper. We convinced him it was much more exciting to just rip the paper and see whats inside.

Everything goes straight to the mouth with this little guy right now. It's really funny, he actually attacks whatever he wants to put in his mouth!

Levi loves to take pictures with our camera. We don't like to let him use our camera so we got him his own. He has a lot of fun taking pictures but, he really likes to delete the pictures he's taken because it makes a funny noise when it's deleting.

We did chocolate fondue with strawberries, kiwi, fresh pineapple, bananas, and marshmallows. Yummy, yummy! And a great way to finish off our Christmas weekend! It was a wonderful Christmas at the end of a wonderful month and a very exciting year.
