All about Tyler!

I was watching Tyler playing on the floor the other day and I realized just how much my little guy has grown up. He will be 5 months old on the the 6th! I can't believe how fast time flies. I also realized that I haven't yet jotted down some of the little milestones he has met.

It's crazy how in just 5 short months he can go from this.....
1 day old

to this adorable little guy!

When Tyler was born he weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 21 inches long. At his last well-child check he was 14lbs 11oz and nearly 27 inches long. He is at the 50th percentile for his weight and at the 95th for his height!

Tyler is a big talker and already enjoys carrying on a baby jabber talk with you! He also likes to squeal, very loudly, sometimes it will take me by surprise and I'll think he's hurt himself somehow. He loves to laugh and to be tickled in his ribs! He started sitting up all by himself a few days ago. He is still very unstable especially when he gets excited.

Tyler started rolling from his back to his belly at about 12 weeks but, only in one direction. He has just in the last week started rolling from his back to his belly in both directions but, he has yet to master rolling from his belly to his back. He also loves to stand and especially to jump! He's also very close to being mobile. I'm pretty sure in the next few weeks he'll be scooting all over the place.

Because Tyler is so tall and his weight hasn't been keeping up with his height, his pediatrician gave us the okay to start him on some oatmeal cereal each night. I was really hoping that it would help my once awesome sleeper (from 10pm to 8-9am without getting up to eat) come back. It hasn't seemed to help, he's still getting up 2-3 times a night to eat. So after 3 weeks of trying the cereal with no change except the smell and consistency of what ends up in his diaper, I've decided to stop the cereal. We'll try it again when he gets closer to 6 months and see if he likes it more. Tyler also loves to play with his toys! I've had a couple of different people comment on how they've never seen such a young child be so into playing with toys. He especially likes anything that makes noise or lights up.

I don't know why this pic insists on being this way

We sure love you small fry!!

  1. What a sweet little guy! He sounds like a lot of fun to be around. And the last picture of him in the funny glasses is awesome! I can't believe he's seriously 5 months old already!!!
