Prego Pic!

I thought it might be fun to chronicle a few prego pics of this new baby. This pic was actually taken about a week and a half ago but, with all that has been going on (ie, packing, packing, packing and a very sick hubby with the stomach flu) I haven't had much of an opportunity. So, this was taken at 21 weeks, I am now going on 23 weeks. My active little baby bump!

Keeping Busy!

The last few weeks of winter are always the hardest. The snow is melted and the sun shines but, it is way to cold to play outdoors. We've had to be a bit creative and patient in waiting for nicer weather and I think we've done a pretty good job!

We turned our living room into a big tent...

... and then enjoyed a nice "picnic" lunch inside!

Lounging after lunch.

We finally got some watercolors to paint with.

And playdoh has become a new favorite past-time.

Buzz and Woody have become some of Levi's best friends!

Levi got this train set for Christmas and it has become he and Dad's favorite thing to do together. My living room now always has a train track running through it!

And baking is still a favorite thing of ours to do!

Snow Day #2

A week ago Saturday we went to bed with it snowing out. It was a beautiful snow fall, one of those ones where the snow sticks to all the trees and branches. It wasn't snowing very hard, but it was the big beautiful flakes that make you want to stand outside with your mouth open to catch the flakes!

One of the bushes outside our door Saturday night.

We woke up Sunday morning to the phone ringing with a member of the ward announcing that they were canceling church due to all the snow and some power outages. Levi woke up a little later saying that it was time to get ready for church and nursery. He was so upset to hear that we wouldn't be going to church that day until we got him to look out the window. He then excitedly started telling us all the things he had to do to get ready to go and build a snowman! He left the room stating that he was going to go and get his shoes and hat! It was all we could do to get Levi to wait long enough for Dan and I to get showered and some breakfast before he drug us out into the snow.

Levi spent most of his time trying to walk through the snow. We had about 12 inches of snow at this time, and ended up with just over 18 by the end of the afternoon, so for a little man it was tough to walk through. But, I don't think he would have had it any other way!

He made it out into the middle of the yard and this is him asking for help getting back!

Finally, building a snowman with Dad!

Their finished product, complete with peppermint candy eyes, a carrot nose, and a chocolate chip smile!

He really had fun making 'eyes' (big holes in the snow), except he kept losing his mittens.

Here he is learning to do a snow angel. He had so much fun with this that he now does it on the floor all over the house!

My Boys!

My poor, wonderful, sweet, amazing husband comes home each day after 8-9 hours of going through patient charts to a sick wife, a very cooped up and eager for a playmate son (because mommy isn't quite up to par right now), and hopefully some sort of dinner started or even sometimes (depending on my level of sickness) something already on the table. He always comes in with a smile and a kiss for both of us. Then even before he changes from his work clothes will finish dinner and engage in some sort of silly play with Levi. I don't know what I would do without him! He is my rock, my joy, my best friend, and the love of my life! Thank you sweetie for all your hard work and unconditional love for us.

I sure love these two!

Snow Day!

Last month we had our first major snow storm. It started on a Sunday night, snowed all night, and then most of Monday. By Monday night we had somewhere between 13 and 15 inches of snow in our front yard. Last year Levi didn't want much to do with the snow. But, this year he was really excited!

This is what Levi did most of the day, waiting for the snow to stop and for Dad to come home so we could go build a snowman!

Our front porch. Look at all that snow!!

I had heard that Reno doesn't get much snow so I hadn't bought Levi any new snow clothes for this year. Then this happened. So, Levi went out with mittens that were too small, a snow suit that barely comes to the top of his shoes, and no boots just sneakers (last years weren't going on!).

Unfortunately the snow was all powder and wouldn't pack well, so we didn't get to build a snowman. Now Levi thinks going out to play in the snow is to 'build a snowman'!

Levi had to dust the snow off all the bushes in front of our place.

What Levi enjoyed the most was to pick up the snow and throw it, or to try and catch the snow that we would throw to him!
After about 20 minutes of snow time I noticed that the tops of Levi's hands were starting to turn purple, so Daddy and I started to bring him in, which he didn't complain one bit about (he must have been cold!). But, he did have to bring a chunk of snow with him!

Poor kid was wet, purple and cold. So, I stuck him in front of the fireplace with a blanket and his ball of snow!

He would hold the snow till his hands were so cold he would start to cry. So, Daddy would warm them on his face.

Then right back to his ball of snow!
I think it is safe to say that Levi likes the snow and it's pretty sad that we haven't had another storm big enough to let us go out and play in.

Christmas in St. George 2009!

I've been out of the blogging world for the last few months (three week long vacation over Christmas break and other things which we will get into later), but, I want to catch you up on the wonderful Christmas that we had!

We started our Christmas off pretty early this year. We knew we were going to be gone for most of the month of December, so, a week after Halloween, we set up our Christmas tree and decorations! Levi is two and a half now, and really got into all the Christmas festivities. He loved putting up all the decorations, listening to Christmas music, making yummy treats, and trying to sneak peaks under the wrapping paper to see what was there!

Levi loves to help with things, especially if it's helping Dad. He had a lot of fun helping us spread out the branches, and was quick to remind us if we weren't being careful enough with his Christmas tree!

One of my favorite Christmas stories is "The Polar Express", and lucky for me it has a train in it (which is Levi's FAVORITE thing at the moment), so we got to read this book a lot this year!

As tradition states (and Levi), the star goes on top!

Levi got to hang the last ornament (about 10 times, before he finally decided on a place to put it)!

Our finished product!

On our way to St. George we stopped by Newberry Springs for a few days to visit with Dan's dad and step-mom. Levi hadn't spent much time with these Grandparents, but he warmed up quickly and had a wonderful time! Especially after Grandpa took him to the store and bought him a little battery operated train.

Shortly after arriving in St. George we went out to Tuacahn to see the Live Nativity and all the pretty lights they put on. Watching the nativity was really beautiful and helped us all to remember the true meaning of Christmas. All Levi will tell you from the night, though, was that there was a train, and he got to ride it!

The train!

All the pretty lights, with the train in front (it's kinda hard to see).

Christmas morning at my parents! We had been telling Levi that on Christmas Eve after he goes to sleep that Santa would come and leave some new toys for him. He would get so excited when we would talk about it but, when Christmas morning came around he could have cared less and didn't seem to know what all the excitement was about, until we showed him that he could now open up his new toys!

Checking out the stockings! We had a pretty full house that morning, my whole family was there minus my second brother who is serving a mission in the West Indies right now.

When Grandpa wasn't at work, he and Levi were pretty inseparable!

One of the biggest struggles on Christmas morning was getting Levi to open up all his presents before opening up each individual box and playing with what was inside. The first thing he opened was a box of books. The top book had a picture of a train on it and that was it! He had all he wanted and didn't care about all the other un-opened gifts waiting for him. I had to half open a few gifts to show him there was still fun stuff to be had!

I think that smile says it all! We had a wonderful Christmas!!
